The Nicosia Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) successfully organized the first Tylliria Cycling Tour, on Sunday, November 21, 2021.
The goal of the event was to highlight the uniqueness of the area and to establish it as a destination with the possibility of hosting sports events.
The start was given against the background of the picturesque harbor of Kato Pyrgos at 9 in the morning, with cyclists from all over Cyprus giving their presence in the cycling routes of 100 km (road cycling) and 20 km (mountain cycling).
The winner of the 100 km course was Konstantinos Thymidis with a time of 03:35:30, followed by Michalis Theoharous, Marios Loizou and Chrysoulis Konstantinou. The winning team in the 20 km route was the Lexus Cycling Dream Team.
Alongside the cycling, sea kayaking activities were also carried out, as well as a free guided tour of the Tellyria area.
It is worth noting that part of the proceeds of the event will be allocated for the purposes of financial support for schools in the Tellyria region.
The event was held under the auspices of the Cypriot Cycling Federation, with the support of the communities of Kato Pyrgos, Pano Pyrgos, Pachyammos, Mosfili and Pigaenia, with communication sponsor RIK.
ETAP Nicosia congratulates all those who participated in the event and expresses its satisfaction for its successful realization. ETAP’s goal is to establish the Tylliria Cycling Tour as an institution for the Tylliria region, with the participation of sports teams from Cyprus and abroad. ETAP’s belief is that the area of Tellyria has all the characteristics for holding and hosting sports events that will strengthen the tourism product of the area. ETAP will help as much as possible to achieve the goal, in cooperation with the communities of the region.

The Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) of the Nicosia Region is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 as part of the strategic planning and plan of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
