NTB (Nicosia Tourism Board), as part of its development partnerships aiming at the exchange of knowledge and perspectives on sustainable destination development, conducted a series of meetings with stakeholders in the region of Crete.
During the two-day visit, meetings were held with the Management of the Technological Park of Crete, the Entrepreneurship, Commerce, Innovation and Social Economy Department of the Region of Crete, as well as with the Development Planning Directorate of the Region of Crete and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Heraklion.
The meetings identified common challenges in terms of competitiveness and sustainable development of the tourism product, as well as opportunities for both destinations in areas such as innovative tools for cultural promotion, start-up businesses, digital and green transition, sustainable mobility, accessibility, and social economy.
Additionally, meetings were held with the Business Administration and Tourism Department of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, where the Tourism Observatory of Crete was presented and prospects for collaboration in developing a Tourism Observatory in Nicosia were discussed.
