Nicosia Hosts the 4th Transnational Partner Meeting of the FoodZone Project

Nicosia, Cyprus – The Nicosia Tourism Board (NTB) proudly hosted the 4th Transnational Partner Meeting (TPM) of the FoodZone project in Nicosia, Cyprus. This significant gathering brought together leading stakeholders from across Europe to advance the objectives of the Erasmus+ co-funded initiative, which focuses on developing regenerative food tourism to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the broader tourism ecosystem.

The FoodZone project fosters innovative partnerships to enhance education, tourism, and sustainability, equipping professionals with green skills and digital tools to drive industry transformation. By integrating sustainability into tourism, the initiative aims to create long-term value for local economies and promote responsible travel practices.

The FoodZone consortium includes key partners from multiple European countries:

  • Nicosia Tourism Board (Cyprus)
  • Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cáceres (Spain)
  • EURAKOM (France)
  • DomSpain (Spain)
  • Municipality of Tivat (Montenegro)
  • LANARA Consulting (Slovenia)
  • University of Aveiro (Portugal)

These partners are committed to fostering cross-sector collaboration and delivering innovative solutions that support tourism businesses in adapting to sustainability challenges. The discussions in Nicosia focused on strategies to integrate regenerative practices, digital tools, and educational resources to drive sustainable growth in food tourism.

As part of the meeting, participants engaged in various activities, including:

  • A co-ordination meeting in the offices.
  • A study visit to Riverland Farm Park.
  • A study visit to the traditional cured meat factory of the family Tomazou.
  • A study visit to the Santa Irene Winery.
