The Thematic Workshop B entitled “Best practices of cultural and creative tourism based on cultural and creative
sectors” of the European Cult-CreaTE project was carried out by Nicosia Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (PP5) with Mr. Christoforou in charge of implementation, on November 7, 2019. The
above thematic workshop was its central core three-day event which started with work visits to structures and
businesses related to Creative and Cultural Tourism in Nicosia where the project partners participated (November 6th) and concluded (November 8th) with an informational meeting between only
partners.
The November 7 workshop was organized into breakout sessions and its purpose was the participants
partners to exchange experiences, to present good practices, innovations and their own plans priorities for cultural and creative products with recipients the visitors. Through the good ones practices presented, different meanings of cultural and creative industries were given between all partners in order reach a common understanding of how the various regions they can be inspired by good practices and exchange
useful information.
In addition, within the framework of the workshop, local organizations were invited administration but also bodies that influence local ones with their actions Creative and Cultural Industries so that they can also contribute with their own perspective.
Discussions followed in three (3) small groups with the following topics:
a) Transfer of best practices: How we can develop Creative Industries based on Cultural Tourism?
b) Stakeholder involvement: How to involve key stakeholders?
c) Policy Change, possible actions for the Action Plans: How we can to improve the policy tools of Cult-CreaTE project partners with the integration of Creative Industries based on Cultural Tourism?
The main conclusion of the workshop was:
- identifying the need for tourists to participate in a innovative tourist product with their active participation, fact which was emphasized on many levels.
-Various good practices were recorded by the partners coming from their regions which also make up the
source of inspiration between countries to enrich the Creative Industries they already have.
