ETAP Nicosia: Eleftherias Square, Makariou Avenue and the start of the renovation works of the old GSP are changing the image of Nicosia
The end of 2021 marks the beginning of a new era for the capital which, renewed and upgraded, through imposing and majestic projects, welcomes its visitors. Credit to the Mayor of Nicosia Kostantinos Yorkatzis and his colleagues, who with patience and perseverance work seamlessly for a bright, modern European capital that harmoniously unites the past with the modern present and future always with respect and guidance for its history.
On December 10, almost a year after the opening of the lower part of Liberty Square, the grand opening of Zaha Hadid’s emblematic work, a point of reference for the whole of Cyprus, took place. A few days earlier, the renovated Makariou Avenue was also opened to the public, which now has a new look, friendly to its visitors.
The next grandiose project that is headed for implementation is the renovation of the Old GSP. Work has begun and the project includes the creation of an underground parking lot with a capacity of more than 500 cars, an urban square, green spaces and recreational areas.
ETAP Nicosia encourages and supports the efforts of the Mayor and the Municipal Council of Nicosia, which aim to upgrade Nicosia, a city intertwined with culture, for the benefit of its residents, but also to highlight and promote it, turning it into a pole of attraction for foreign visitors.
