The Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) of Nicosia is very pleased to announce the inclusion of the community of Fikardou as a member of the organization. This is the culmination of intensive talks and meetings aimed at joint planning for the development of the region’s tourism product and its further targeted promotion. Fikardou is the only village in Cyprus with permanent residents, declared by the Department of Antiquities as an ancient monument.
On the eve of the World Cultural Heritage Day, and in the context of the Kliros – Fikardou cycling race organized on Sunday, April 18, where ETAP Nicosia was a supporter, the President of ETAP Nicosia, Mr. Theodoros Krigou, awarded an honorary plaque to the Deputy Mayor of Fikardou, Mr. Christos Tyrimos, for the inclusion of the community in ETAP Nicosia.
In his statements, Mr. Tyrimos expressed his satisfaction with the inclusion of the community of Fikardou in ETAP Nicosia. As he stated, “After the meeting with ETAP Nicosia and the various discussions held with Mr. Krigou, we considered it right as a community to register as a member of ETAP Nicosia. We are confident that this collaboration will bring many positive benefits to the community.” At the same time, Mr. Tyrimos thanked ETAP of Nicosia, for its immediate positive response in supporting the cycling event as well as the upcoming events that are planned.
ETAP Nicosia, recognizing the important responsibility it bears, will make every possible effort in order, together with the Community Council and the involved government agencies, to implement those actions that will enrich the tourism product of the region and ensure the sustainability of both the community and the authenticity of the area.

The Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) of the Nicosia Region is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 as part of the strategic planning and plan of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism. The purpose of ETAP Nicosia is the development and promotion of both the city and the region of Nicosia and their transformation into a quality year-round tourist destination. In order to achieve its actions, ETAP collaborates with various bodies at the local, regional and international level, both in the public and private sectors.
