The need to invest in accessible tourism infrastructure was highlighted at a conference organized yesterday, May 31, by ETAP Nicosia in collaboration with the District Committee of PASYXE Nicosia on the topic of accessibility in the tourism industry.
The conference was attended by organizations active in the tourism sector in Cyprus, as well as representatives from the Hotel Association of Trikala Prefecture.
During the conference, a workshop was held by officials of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism on the subject of the evaluation of hotel units in terms of accessibility.
ETAP of Nicosia attaches particular importance to issues of accessible tourism. For this purpose, it works closely with the Municipalities of greater Nicosia to improve accessibility infrastructure, while also supporting actions taken to improve accessibility in cultural spaces, such as museums and theaters. Finally, the organization is currently participating as a partner in the European program FAST (Facilitating Accessibility in Support of Tourism).
The belief of ETAP Nicosia is that the increase in investments in accessible tourism will create new opportunities for the development and enrichment of the tourist product that Cyprus offers.
