3rd HOTHREAT Consortium Meeting Successfully Concludes in Athens

The third HOTHREAT Consortium Meeting recently took place at the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) in Athens, Greece, marking an important milestone for the project. During the meeting, partners from across Europe convened to discuss the latest developments and plan the next stages of the initiative, with a particular focus on upcoming CBRNe (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) trainings and exercises.

This gathering provided a platform for the consortium to review the progress made so far and outline strategies for addressing the challenges ahead. Participants expressed optimism about the future of the project, highlighting the potential of its innovative approach to enhancing security in the hospitality industry.

Looking forward, the HOTHREAT project will prioritize the delivery of comprehensive trainings, study visits, and practical exercises. A key aspect of this next phase will involve the development of advanced applications and Augmented Reality (AR) tools, specifically designed for hotels and conference centers. These tools will be instrumental in empowering law enforcement agencies and hotel management to respond effectively to potential CBRNe threats, thereby enhancing safety measures in the hospitality sector.

By integrating cutting-edge technology with hands-on training, HOTHREAT aims to ensure that hotels and conference centers remain secure environments for both guests and staff. The initiative underscores the importance of professionalism, continuous innovation, and collaboration in maintaining high standards of security in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

The consortium’s commitment to addressing these critical security concerns reaffirms its goal of safeguarding Europe’s hospitality sector, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of the broader public.
