The official kick-off meeting took place on <strong>May 7, 2025<\/strong>, marking the beginning of an ambitious four-year journey to reshape how industrial heritage and tourism intersect in regional policy-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running from <strong>May 2025 to April 2029<\/strong>, IndusTour brings together a diverse consortium of regions and municipalities, with a shared mission to <strong>improve public policies that foster innovation, resilience, and diversification in tourism<\/strong>. For Nicosia, this partnership represents a significant opportunity to contribute to and benefit from transnational cooperation, while spotlighting the island\u2019s evolving tourism narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industrial Tourism: A New Chapter for Nicosia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Industrial tourism \u2013 visiting sites related to manufacturing, production, and craftsmanship \u2013 is increasingly being recognized as a powerful tool for sustainable tourism development. It not only preserves and showcases local heritage, but also drives economic revitalization in lesser-known areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the IndusTour project, the Nicosia Tourism Board will collaborate closely with policy makers, stakeholders, and tourism professionals from across Europe. Together, they will undertake:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>National studies to assess the current status of industrial tourism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exchange of best practices between partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in interregional events and thematic study visits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engagement with <strong>local stakeholder groups in Cyprus<\/strong>, helping to tailor strategies that reflect local needs and strengths<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Strong European Partnership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is <strong>led by the Auvergne-Rhone-Alps Region (France)<\/strong>, with additional partners including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Toender Municipality<\/strong> (Denmark)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Moravian-Silesian Region<\/strong> (Czech Republic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lodzkie Region<\/strong> (Poland)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fund for European Affairs and Development of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina<\/strong> (Serbia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u0395\u03a4\u0391\u03a0 \u039b\u03b5\u03c5\u03ba\u03c9\u03c3\u03af\u03b1\u03c2<\/strong> (Cyprus)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the <strong>Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism of Vojvodina<\/strong> \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 <strong>\u0394\u0397\u039c\u039f\u03a3 \u039b\u0395\u03a5\u039a\u03a9\u03a3\u0399\u0391\u03a3<\/strong> are involved as <strong>associated policy authorities<\/strong>, reinforcing the strategic focus on local governance and policy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EU Support and Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>IndusTour is co-financed by the <strong>European Union<\/strong> through the <strong>Interreg Europe programme<\/strong> and boasts a total budget of <strong>\u20ac1.4 million<\/strong>.
