Nicosia Tourism Board is proud to be one of the 19 partners to work on the Green Host Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few words on the project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project “Vocational Excellence, Policy And Enterprise United for Hospitality Management Skills Adapted on Environmental Footprint Methods (GreenHost)” is a project funded by the EU programme Erasmus+ CoVe, bringing together a mixture of 19 partners from 7 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GreenHost projects is focused on addressing two key issues in the hospitality management and broader tourism sectors:
a) <\/strong>Shortage of skilled staff
b)<\/strong> Becoming Green and Sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Concurrently, the European Commission has implemented the Recommendation on Environmental Footprint Methods (2021) to aid companies in accurately evaluating their environmental performance using dependable, verifiable, and comparable data<\/strong>, ultimately fostering the development of more eco-friendly products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GreenHost brings together a diverse group of partners from seven countries, enabling interaction and collaboration between vocational education and training (VET) institutions across all levels<\/strong> (ISCED 3-8) and industry leaders.
The primary goal is to integrate green and digital strategies into the hospitality management education system and support the upskilling and reskilling of students, professionals, and educators.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PROJECT ACTIVITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will develop in different phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. an initial moment of gathering needs and good practices in collaboration with stakeholders in the various countries<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. a phase of developing material for training, updating and the retraining of students and professionals in the sector;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. organization of study visits and professional internships to offer practical and exchange experiences.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Main objectives<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Contribute to attracting more young people to the hospitality\/tourism sectors, and thus producing new workforce that is VET recognized, skilled and competent for the 21st century labor needs, trained through work-based training and apprenticeships in direct liaison with the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Create an innovative curriculum both for learners and trainers in the spirit of VET excellence, that will contribute to the development in the hospitality\/tourism sectors of greener, more circular and sustainable economic models, as well as more ethical and concentrated on more socially inclusive values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Establish a Green Entrepreneurship policy reform pathway for incorporating sustainability concerns within new educational planning, while also promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills and competences among the workforce, within educational institutions and after graduation as part of lifelong learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
