Nicosia Tourism Board Participates in the 2nd Transnational Meeting of the Green Host Project in Oporto, Portugal

The Nicosia Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the 2nd Transnational Meeting of the Green Host Project, held in Oporto, Portugal. Hosted by the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, the meeting gathered key stakeholders to advance discussions on sustainable tourism practices and project implementation.

Day 1 – January 28, 2025

The first day of the meeting focused on reviewing the project’s progress and discussing critical work packages:

  • Overview of the updated project plan – Led by the University of Macedonia (UoM)
  • Discussion on WP3: Online Transnational Cooperation Platform – Led by the Italian Association for Responsible Tourism (AITR)
  • Discussion on WP2: Research and Innovation – Led by the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP)

The day concluded with a networking dinner, providing an opportunity for further discussions in an informal setting with a scenic view of the Douro River.

Day 2 – January 29, 2025

The second day of the meeting focused on key thematic areas and future steps for the project:

  • Discussion on WP4: Teaching and Learning – Led by the Secondary School of Catering and Tourism Maribor (SSGT)
  • Discussion on WP5: Mobility and Industry Engagement – Led by the Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality, and Gastronomy (CETT)
  • Discussion on WP6: Support for Policy Reform and Recognition – Led by the Nicosia Tourism Board (NTB)
  • Discussion on WP7: Dissemination and Exploitation of Results – Led by the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria (MTBG)
  • Presentation of the 1st Progress Evaluation Report – Led by the University of Macedonia (UoM)

The meeting provided an essential platform for aligning strategic objectives, ensuring progress across all work packages, and defining next steps. It also facilitated valuable networking opportunities, reinforcing partnerships and cooperation among project stakeholders.
